Our English department serves students from the 6th to 12th grades emphasizing the study of literature. Students are divided into different levels depending on their individual skill and specific needs.
In the classroom, students are given the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and proficiency of the English language through a variety of assessment practices such as, oral and written reports, quizzes, tests, and other special projects.
Main goal: Throughout the study of English as a second language, from sixth to twelfth grade, students will be able to interact both actively and positively in the target language.
Emphasis is placed on the following skills: (1) effective communication; (2) reading and writing; and (3) critical analysis.
