Happy Thanksgiving!

We’re taking a short break before heading into the last part of the semester. The English teaching staff wishes all the CBCMR families a pleasant Thanksgiving Day. May we appreciate all we have no matter how small.

A Thanksgiving Prayer

O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.

    I ate a lot of turkey and my mom told me the same this morning. “There are a lot of children and families that will not have much to eat today” I did enjoy the day with my family.

    So did I! Thanksgiving for me is family time. The food is nice, but I try not to overdo it. I agree with your mom; so many have to do without the basics in life while others have a surplus. Such a shame!

    I enjoyed the time with my family and my grandmother’s birthday. We did a special theatrical play called The Heaven Store (La Tienda del Cielo). It was fun.
